First things first, I dont know actionscript. I hate it. And the only way to put a preloader on my shit was to use the newgrounds preloader. There were NO good tutorials back before you came along that taught how to make a decent working preloader. For all I know there still arent. This particular argument is retarded because other than contests and my very early work, I tried very hard NOT to put a newgrounds logo on anything. Why? Because it labels the cartoon as belonging to the site. You'll notice with the exception of LIKE A BROTHER (where the inclusion of the ng logo was gerkinmans idea) that I stopped using the NG logo for personal work a long LONG time ago. Because I knew one day I'd want to use the swfs for something else. I ended up stealing the codes I found in public FLA preloaders and using it to set up my own preloaders.

Same reason I joined AlbinoBlackSheep a year and a half later. Because I knew NG would eventually outlast its staying power and if the time came for me to leave it meant
A.) i had a much nice site to go to that treated its contributors respectfully
B.) i wouldnt have the NG corporate logo splattered all over my shit

If you went back and read the descriptions and review responses on alot of my old cartoons you'd see I was NOT happy submitting my work to newgrounds because I'd always get dumbass reviews. Reviews which I learned later to ignore because the general audience of the site was 13 year olds and horny goths.

This is not to say that there werent aspects of the site I didnt enjoy. Hell, I liked the art forum for the first few months it existed before the mod staff let it devolve into sonic spriteville. There were even plenty of people there I liked. But those things dont balance out the myriad of terrible things about the site.

But I have been harshly criticizing the site and the way its run since at least 2004. I fought against shitty video game parodies and sprite cartoons for a LONG FUCKING TIME. Why do you think I joined the star syndicate? Why do you think I made so many cartoons making fun of other authors and dangerous trends in the site? BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD SITE? BECAUSE I LIKED THE CONTENT?

And its the same reason I hung around that place for so long.

Because Newgrounds HAD potential. It had amazing potential to become an amazing art media website that could have gone beyond the Ebaums World level of humor.

Why in all the holy fuck do you think I made those posts? GO BACK TO THE FIRST ONE YOU STUPID STUPID CHILD. Because the site had potential and NOONE was doing anything except copying egoraptor and oney and all the other popular authors. EVERYONE EVERYONE EVERYONE was making selfish posts talking about THEMSELVES and ruining the site even further than it already was.
Everyone was trying to do the same bullshit of making video game funnies over and over and over and werent exposing themselves to anything with imagination.
I didnt make those posts because I liked newgrounds. I made those posts because I hoped (foolishly) that I could inspire at least a few faggots to stop durr hurr hurring at 'Mario Eats a Slippery One 6" and maybe use their imaginations for once in their miserable prepubescent lives. To actually try being creative for once. To try a new idea once in a while maybe, despite the fact everyone on NG would hate it because it wasnt the same thing they were used to.

How have YOU, ansel, of all fucking people, NOT GOTTEN THIS?
Have you not seen the constant tirades I've been launching against aspects of the site for the last few years? Are you that fucking blind?
Do you know how many times I've had conservations with other authors trying to convince them NOT to leave newgrounds because I stupidly thought that maybe if we all hung on we could pull the site out of the dark hole of shit it had dug itself into?  Jesus christ, man.
