you will be able to edit your tutorial anytime, and people will be able to respond and leave feedback, etc.

if two different people create two different tutorials on similar topics (ie. methods of masking), is it going to be possible to merge the tutorials to keep everything similar together?

cos i think the tutorial-forum idea is pretty cool, it definitely sounds like something i could use and contribute to, but how it is going to be organized? (subforums for different programs, technical tuts vs. artistic tuts., by author...?) or just regular forum-style, newest/latest comments on ones first ?

the subforums will dictate the categories. i want to keep it simple, but at the same time keep vastly different topics seperate.

if two people created similar topics and they were made within reasonable dates of eachother, a moderator or admin would have to come in to merge the two topics. this is one thing that will still be important - authors of tutorials, guides or what have you should still keep up on what they've made and improve or update it when necessary. the good thing this time though is they don't have to worry about other people editing it (besides our trusty staff )

there's not much there for you to see so far, but for me it's been a lot of coding work. this page is basically mirroring hidden categories on the forums. that way if i decide to add or remove categories or sub-categories, the script does it for me.

what do you guys think of the categories? too many, too few?

also, i think it will be worth noting that when you go to actually view a tutorial, the sidebars will disappear for ease of use and all that. you can also go to the thread on the forum, but the tutorial section will have special tools to interact with the rest of what i'm coding.
