plans for tba + question

hey everyone time for a little update. this isn't in the news section cuz nobody that reads fp would care.

so basically the original purpose of this site no longer exists - a personal site to showcase my work. i have moved all that to my portfolio site. here's what's going to happen once i learn how to implement it:

the art, animation and store links are going away. like i said there is no need for this anymore
resources is going to turn into a tutorial and free file downloads section for plugins, etc. anipedia will stay up, but it will no longer be linked anywhere. i am going to find a way to make the tutorials section part of the forum, a special place where you can submit a tutorial in a subforum and it will appear on the forum as well as in a special place specificially for tutorials. i will create BBcode guides and new codes to allow you to format it. i'll also try to implement syntax highlighting for AS2/3, but i can't guarantee anything.
files will be moderated as well, but will be a place where you can download anything that is for free for stuff on the adobe line and other relevant tools for animators, artists and programmers. basically tba is going to turn into a resource-oriented site, which was something i've wanted to do but anipedia didn't work out like i hoped it to. i think making the forum a part of it will help, as the member database will be the same.

and my question for you guys is this: if there was 1 thing on the site you could change, what would it be? it can be something big or small, i don't care. don't say "delete site/forum", "ban member x", etc thanks

This and maybe have the collab topics posted in the upload and show in future, seeing as its work made by tba members and thats where that sort of thing is normally. I was going to suggest a public TBA voice chat but that'd probably just make alot of problems.

I don't think "upload and show" and "collabs" would fit nicely together in one forum. the upload and show is a forum where you can post your art, not organize a collab. Maybe another sub forum, then we'd probably get more collabs going on as well.

Also my suggestion; a log in thing on the public uploader. I know you worked a lot on the public uploader already and probably can't stand working on it anymore but a "username" and "password" field would be nice, so you can log in with your forum account and there, see the files you have uploaded. I know you got that IP stuff already, but as you know, I have a dynamic IP so it doesn't really work for me.

music and voice acting hmm, if it was discussion based as well i guess there\\\'d be room for it. although i don\\\'t see why you can\\\'t upload music and voice acting in there already, it\\\'s not like topics disappear quickly.

and there is only one forum theme right now. i said i would make a dev pack for anyone that wanted to make a skin, but even putting one together would be a monumentous effort much less making a skin. there\\\'s like 9348759387534 things you have to change, really gets boring after a while. it does need a "light" version though, i guess.

Is there any chance to get a separate page that shows all of the sub forums? Hearing all this talk about sub forums sounds like the place is going to be much less organized.

the oekaki will be part of my learning how to merge databases and learning more about sessions and cookies so i can do the tutorial thing

i want your forum account to be logged in for browsing the whole site basically

i'm sure it's not that hard, but i'll probably break quite a few things along the way

oh well i'm not to worried i've never totally destroyed the site ^________^
