Just got back into drawing after a 4 year break and digital art is completely new to me but I had to finally get myself to do what I knew I had missed soo much and also learn how to use paint programs and a tablet! I'll just dump whatever I complete here, but for now recently created stuff to start it off. it looks like you have a pretty solid grasp on line , vector color and shapes. it also looks like perhaps you were referencing another image for some of these drawings, and i say this because your two ash/chao pictures feel a little clumsy while the others are more solid. you can take away a lot from studying other art, but translating that confidence in drawing from your reference images to your original art can be a challenge. do you do any preliminary sketches or structural drawings before you do the final lines?
Yeah FLCL - Nagato were referenced, but for the most part they helped me learn about layers and how to properly use them. my final one of Misaka was my first without a concrete reference after a lot of practice sketches of other things and reading many line art/SAI tutorials I felt confident enough to do that last project unassisted for the most part, although I did look at some pics for general pose help. My 'rough draft' sketch of the picture is pretty messy, I don't really go for anything pretty looking yet, just the basic layout of what I want to draw, then comes the line.

i'm not much of a writer but the back and forth of it is pulling in two different directions emotionally, i suppose that is what you were going for. it's definitely not subtle, i hope no one irl is saying those things to you but if they are they don't belong in your life.

Oh, I've never gone to poetry readings so I didn't know people did this, thank you bd and rtil for explaining.
That's exactly what I was going for to kind of convey the idea of the emotions fluctuating constantly, it's like a weekly thing of where someone come up to me and has something negative to say and even more often the not so subtle snickering or questioning in the background, but it's w/e the focus of this poem was specifically my own views and what's in my mind.
I honestly haven't drawn in a very long time, every time I feel like drawing I stop half way through because anatomy somehow brings up emotional stuffs.

That does sound like a good idea, my environments/bg art has always been pretty awful so now would be a good time to work on it I guess, although I've been having fun writing these days.
I'm not a writer either, and even less of a poet, but I'd recommend studying rhyme and meter if you have any interest in poetry beyond emotional self-assuagement. Based on content, the American Confessional school might be worth reading, if you haven't already.

I don't really have much to offer in the way of criticism or improvement, which is probably what you'd like from me! However what I would like to say now that I'd love to see more of your work, be it artistic or written. I enjoy a bit of writing myself, and I always feel the best way to improve is to read as much varied content as possible.

peripety, but don't quote me on that.
