Just got back into drawing after a 4 year break and digital art is completely new to me but I had to finally get myself to do what I knew I had missed soo much and also learn how to use paint programs and a tablet! I'll just dump whatever I complete here, but for now recently created stuff to start it off. Critiques are very welcome, anything that can help me improve, and especially Paint Tool SAI tips since I suck soo much at this new art program stuff xD anyways here we gooo

Because FLCL will always be awesome... and getting used to using that tablet (..soo many deleted practice sketches *A*)

Not sure what I was hoping to get from leaving free space and then having the unused background opacity set to 0% but uh... yeah here ya go

Aaaand just finished this about half an hour ago, took all day but I love it! Misaka from Toaru Majutsu no Index, just finished watching that a few days ago and I think I'm obsessed with her now *-*

it looks like you have a pretty solid grasp on line , vector color and shapes. it also looks like perhaps you were referencing another image for some of these drawings, and i say this because your two ash/chao pictures feel a little clumsy while the others are more solid. you can take away a lot from studying other art, but translating that confidence in drawing from your reference images to your original art can be a challenge. do you do any preliminary sketches or structural drawings before you do the final lines?

Yeah FLCL - Nagato were referenced, but for the most part they helped me learn about layers and how to properly use them. my final one of Misaka was my first without a concrete reference after a lot of practice sketches of other things and reading many line art/SAI tutorials I felt confident enough to do that last project unassisted for the most part, although I did look at some pics for general pose help. My 'rough draft' sketch of the picture is pretty messy, I don't really go for anything pretty looking yet, just the basic layout of what I want to draw, then comes the line.

I will! I'm just soo damn picky with myself and I toss a lot of drawings and half finished things because I'm not happy with it. I need to stop doing that @_@
But I promise to make something i'm happy with soon :>

Wanted to draw a Koi or something in the water but I can't draw animals for the life of me, scrapped the idea after 6 attempts or so *A*
