More cool Seattle places I know of or have been to. I'm gonna start with a post about all the magically freaky stuff that can be found in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle.


I know I've talked about Gasworks Park a lot in IRC but it is really great and atmospheric.  The only disappointing thing is the damn fence separating you from those delicious tubes and tanks.

This store in Fremont called Deluxe Junk that sells loads of bizarre antiques and knickknacks from genuine USSR wall scrolls to mirrored cowboy boots. Also home to the suggestively named "Fun Hole" which sells, fittingly enough, hot dogs.

The legendary Fremont Troll which permanently resides under the Fremont bridge.  To get a feel for the scale of this monster, the car he holds in his hand is an actual VW Beetle.

I forgot the story behind the Lenin Statue that stands in front of the Taco del Mar in Fremont, but i know there is a plaque on it that explains its history and the subsequent controversy surrounding it.

Atop a retail store  in Fremont is a disarmed ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile). If I remember correctly, like the Lenin statue, there is quite an interesting stroy surrounding how the hell it got there.
