This was made for class in 4 months by 4 people who ate 4 hotdogs. It was the only game in class to be made from scratch with OpenGL rather than from an engine, and it's also the only game that was playable.
Game by Billy Monks, Tyler Hollingsworth, Jonathan Brewer and Alex Zazzaro
Textures by Nathan "Zekey" Malone without permission

Get to the specially marked grids to ascend to the next level, drop into pits to drop back down. If the timer ticks down to 0 you will start the game from the beginning.

The graphics are incredible.

Also a cube has 4 sides.

Screen shot:

Controls:
W A S  D to move
Space bar to jump
Q E to rotate camera
Z X to zoom in and out

I fixed the link, you have to extract the folder from the zip file.

also you can open the lvl files in notepad and fuck everything up

I needed a while to understand that there was a countdown that makes you restart form the beginning if you waste too much time... well, my bad for not reading your discription properly and directly starting to play instead...
Anyway, considering that this game was made from scratch, you guys did quite a nice job there. I once decided to code a jump n run, based on a really cheap java gui and it was pretty much a pain in the ass and very time consuming so I know how hard this coding shit can be and appreciate the result of your project.

The game's nice so far. Could've used one or two more levels and some soundeffects but the rest is pretty decent.
One massive flaw are the spawns. Apparently you took the exact position of the block and spawned it on exactly the same coordinates of the level above/below. As soon as the block overlaps with the edge of the spawnfield, it will be respawned on the highest of the flields it touches which is why I often was spawned on walls or other places I actually should not be.
Other than that it's pretty nice, though. I really like the concept

you have to drop down to previous stages to complete the game, that's not a flaw

what is a flaw is that it's presented like LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2

billy

oh i see what you're saying

Fuzz

Yea, not too bad. Maybe a little more guidance when trying to find the goal.

billy

I feel like the game would be a lot better with no time limit.

Shida

Maybe not removing the time limit indefintely - but probably giving a bit more time, maybe enough to be able to just travel all across the map just once or something. Extra time could add bonuses to the score - just like in the classic-style mario games.

Whelp I took 15 seconds out of my busy morning and significantly increased the timer.
