I think I might have to do better with the shading, and detail the shirt a little more.

And ya, thanks.

rtil

some suggestions:
widen the shoulders

don't make the pose so symmetrical, if he's woozy/sleepy he should be tilting to the side or something, not standing completely straight. it's the "mirror syndrome", it doesn't matter what side you look at him, you could have mirrored half of him, he'd look the same. people don't look like mirror images

hands and arms are looking very strange. i understand what you're trying to do, but it's not working. keep studying anatomy

Alright.
I knew he looked a bit funny like that.
In fact, I have a little critique for myself...

I was trying to make him slouch foward. And where the sketch showed his neck, I pretty much only took some of the neck right out in the coloring process... That didn't really help.
He's supposed to be fatter at the waist, even though the line on his belly showed it...
I tried the whole "Flinstone-y" type of hands, but they ended up all noodled...
And I guess I should fix his head a bit, give him more of a chin.

Pretty much what you said, Anatomy is needed.

<+ansel> i lure children into my van with candy and then i read them passages from 'the origin of species'
<%ropesnake> billy con ends with billy raping his cat
<+billymonks> FUCK YOU BUG

<~rtil> ya one time i gave this hobo some cat food and he ate it like the animal he is it pleased me
