I couldnt sleep tonight and I did a lot of homework for art class but then got tired because doing poorly done "realistic" drawings gets real boring real fast,so I did some other drawings on my own style as well

I also need someone to like help me improve on my charicatures because well I hardly ever feel confident about them. tonight I did this sketch of brad pitt as Aldo "the apache" Raine. this was the result. I do think theres things I did correctly but I could really use advice from anyone whos more experienced than me at this. something about his chin/lips isnt looking quite like it should

the pic i based it off in case you dont know who brat pitt is

Ive been pretty nervous lately. trying to get better this semester....

also I did this a few days ago

mostly when you do a charicature you NEVER get it the first try, so if youre not happy with the result keep trying
every drawing is good because you learn from it

also i think youre very skilled and you need to practice more and dont worry about style right now and and f fffffffffffffff

holy shit that samurai patty is awesome

your charicature is too symmetrical and i think you accentuated in the wrong areas. don't do those childish nose outlines, use shading to suggest shape and depth instead of line. you also use the same shape for people's eyes and they don't fit right on their heads. look at how his eyes fit into his head in the poster. an eye is a ball that fits into some folds of skin, not a circle with two bendy lines on the top and the bottom. the eyes are the most important part of the face, it's the first thing we look at. give it more attention than that

emanhattan

thanks for the suggestions andn support everyone. Rtil I had never tought of those issues, specially the eyes thing... but now that you mention it eyes ARE the first thing i see in any drawing. I will work more on that aspect and probably stop doing that type of eyes real soon.

I started a new digital thing today. bet you can guess who this is! (this is more of my style side than a charicature attempt).

Really nice stuff...
I have only read the book of A Clockwork Orange, so I had to google to find out who this is supposed to be...
strangely the guys are pictured completely different in the movie than they are described in the book... it amazes me again and again how much the original works often differ from what hollywood makes of them... considering that, good job.

The eyes of that samurai girl look a little strange because of the way the pupils seem to have different sizes. The left one (viever's perspective) looks much bigger than the right one which probably is because of the way it merges with the eyelash.

And that Brad Pit caricature is nice... but most of it just doesn't make it look like Brat Pit... I think it's the shape of the face you have chosen, the pointed out features of its shape are not quite the remarkable ones... still, it ain't bad.

thanks! and about the appearance of the characters, apparently stanley kubrick (the movie director) and anthony burges (the author) actually met in person little before the production of the movie started, and stanley tried to stick to burges´s ideas about the characters, looks and storytelling in the film. I havent read the book yet, so I dont know how radical this change you mention is.

that is absolutely right. these eyes DO actually have very significant problems,as a result of myself trying to stick to the style of the artist I based it off, and as an error I commited while planning out my drawing.

thanks! I might try doing one again soon, I think im beginning to realize what is wrong about my charicatures.....

this + it would help if you showed some more evidence of a neck. from the chin to the collarbone.
