^ Akagi is a cartoon about some guy who plays mahjong (which is like a weird japanese poker-style game). the art is unique and the colours used are great too.



^zelda is gr8 and i've always been a fan but MM's more disturbed artstyle and general mood prompted me to get a little 'darker' with my stuff. i remember in like 2001-2002 i had no idea how to shade whatsoever until i took note of how they did the solid black shading with these illustrations.



^DBZ when it came out was a breath of fresh air (as ridiculous as that sounds in 2009). the style was raw, the fights were energetic and it was the first TV cartoon i saw where characters got their arms ripped off, died, and got vivisected by their own attacks. toriyama packed a lot of personality into his characters and in the original dragonball struck an amazing balance between 'cartoony' and 'cool' which is something i try to do with my stuff to this day



^Oda's style is vibrant and i love what his style does to somewhat 'regular' designs, if this guys influenced me in any way its def. character design



^got me into wanting to do art for games. plus i think its the deep rooted influence behind the way i do eyes (aka angry and looking at the moon)



^got me back into drawing full stop



^this REALLY makes me want to direct an animated film every time i watch it seriously


^gerald scarfe's style is really organic whilst at the same time completely ridiculous - the way he uses his lines is something that usually shows up in my doodles

Technically Robert Rodriguez making his first film with 7000 bucks and talking about how he storyboarded his ideas is what got me into trying to draw and Tarintino is well ya a great writer

thats kinda hard because mostly you just watch these things and then you draw stuff or something from it without realising it

and what most people postd here werent their influences but where they get their inspiration from, but what inspires you doesnt always influence your work

Well I already did list my reason why for Rodriguez and Tarintino
The Beatles and Aphex Twin has just always been the bands I have listened to my whole life, it creates images in my head that have inspired me, I can't explain how they just do.
Artist's like Bakshi and TenNapel are actually one of those artists I tried to imitate into my own work and as for the directors they're movies inspired me again I don't know how
