Has the animation standards increased at all in the last two years for flash?

Over a year ago, I pretty much stopped paying attention to Newgrounds. While my interest started to seriously decline around fall '07, it wasn't until about spring '08 when I lost interest completely. However, I recently got a new computer and regained interest in the site. As a result, I've been watching and playing a lot of flashes lately. Before I left, it seemed like the standards on the site for flash animation kept increasing throughout the years. From the site's launch of the portal system to 2007, the standards seemed to increase every year. Sure, there has always been a lot of overrated shit on the site, but at least there was some kind of balance between the overrated stuff and high quality flashes. Sometime between 2007 and 2008, that balance seemed to have faded. I just took a good look at the top 100 highest ranked flashes listing and it's stunning how fucking horrible the animation is for so many of these flashes. What really blew my mind was the fact an Adam Phillips flash wasn't even in the top 100. How the fuck could that have happened? Did 4Chan users take over a huge portion of the audience? Did Gaia fuckers do this? Did YouTube using faggots make their place at home in the NG Portal? Which group(s) of people caused the site to have an overabundance of ridiculously generous voters who are fans of absolute shit? It used to be that if a flash had been part of the top 100 for years, it must have some fucking merit and there were quite a lot of aging flashes in the top 100. Now there isn't a single flash on that listing from before 2007 and very few flashes from '07 at all. I originally assumed these '07 flashes are probably some of the highest quality stuff on Newgrounds but after looking at most of them, I found out that I was very, so very wrong. :/

The only '07 flash from the top 50. While I like this flash game a lot, I find it sad how this is the only flash from that year to remain on the top 50.

Is this flash symbolic for when the site's community started to absolutely fucking lose it when it comes to knowing the difference between high and mediocre animation? To give the animator some credit, the artwork is polished but the animation sucks. How the fuck did this thing remain at such a high standard for so long? It's crap.

Are you fucking kidding me? The animation and art looks horrible. How long did it take this guy to animate this? A fucking week? How the hell is it ranked so high? While I admit that I like the Awesome series, did that flash series' influences cause shit like this to be ranked so high? What the fucking hell?

I remember watching It's Freakin' Mario years ago and could find either barely any humor or none at all. This flash pulls the same exact shit and wow, I could have never imagined an '07 flash like this being ranked so high. None of the jokes are funny, none of the flash animation is even slightly impressive for sprite movie standards, and it's fucking short. Can someone explain to me why this is ranked so high? I can't figure it out.

Oh... My... Fucking... God... Easily the most painful to watch out of all the ones I mentioned. Horrible fucking animation, horrible fucking characters, generic as hell art style, and one really horrible plot. This is even worse than the animator's most recent work. ._.

Has the bar been raised at all for flash animation since the release of Waterlollies? It seems like flash animation in general has surpassed its prime long ago. :/ Maybe the reason why flash submissions no longer show their ranking in the portal is because the scores are an embarrassment to the site. <_<

No, I'm not forgetting about There She Is!! steps 3-5. The flash animation for that series has always been fantastic but I'm not sure if I would rank it as the most well animated thing on Newgrounds.
