Sketched out all 150 of the Red/Blue/Green/Yellow Version Pokemon over the course of five days in random order on 20 and 1/2 sketchbook pages. Photoshopped every single one of them together in ID order and made this collage. I've seen a few other pieces where people have tried their hand at doing EVERY single Pokemon ever designed, figured I'd take a jab at the first generation.

the sketches are nice

but what's up with that horrible blobby painting at the bottom

it's like

really bad

tmk

yeah cut off the bottom, it's pretty unnecessary. and ugly

and hey what the

is that a lens flare I see? come on chris :/

ChrisZito

Yea. Im with everyone else. Cut the bottom part.

lenko

the sketches are actually pretty fucking awesome. Some kinda lack form and structure, like Hitmonlee, and come across as a bit rushed, but most of them look really 'badass' and stylized and well that's my kinda thing  I love how you've stuck to one colour for each Pokemon too. That part of the pic is probably some of the best technique I've seen from you actually, why don't you do more traditional stuff?

However we get to the bottom and there's this big photoshop mess that really ruins the flow of the pic and well yeah like everyone else said you should cut it or redo it in the same styling as what's above it

<emanhattan> i remember pingu ice cream

lmao thats exactly what i was going to say

it would look so much nicer as a piece if you just removed all that shit down the bottom

but yeah the sketches are nice

Crabarms

pretty nice seeing all the cool ones again. I forgot a lot of them existed.

^ye

also jigglyputt and the evolution are the nicest
i like them

mishkamash

i found this really nice
that and i actually looked at my old pokemon poster to compare

some do looked rushed, and some look pretty badass
and yes cut out the bottom part uhugfh
<lenko> i saw a hedgehog on the way home if i was drunk i would have yelled IM DOCTOR RRRRROBOTNIK and chased it

Kirbopher

I think it's mainly the Pokemon Trainer that looks like utter crap, I wasn't happy with it either. I'll probably remove him, but I thought the BG was half-decent, for my ability anyway, so maybe I'll leave that part there. Ah well.

Something else interesting to note is some of their weird poses. A lot of them were drawn in odd shapes because I wanted to see how many I could fit into a single page (usually ranged from anywhere from 7-10). While in some respects it was "restricting" the cool part was that a lot of the pages ended up looking like little puzzles made up of Pokemon pieces. The only one that didn't turn out that way was the final page, which I saved for Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise and Pikachu, (may color that one seperately).

Thanks for the feedback thus far, anyone got any favorites among them?

i only know the names of like two dozen pokemon so i don't know the ones of my favorite sketches on there. but i think for the bottom part, since all the pokemon are sketches, why not have the bottom painting be a sketch too? the super-saturated blobs of paint look so out of place.

Kirbopher

I actually did sketch it out beforehand, but I thought that if the entire thing was nothing but sketch then it would look odd in my normal gallery and would eventually be scrapped, so I added something more colorful to the top and bottom. I'll do some experimenting with the .psd I'm sure I can do something better with it.

Nice job Kirb. Gengar's grin scares the hell outta me though.

i played almost all of the fucking pokemon generation games but it's the same for me with the first 150

why?
well they took the time to translate like 90% of all the pokemon names in Germany.
So I know all the German pokemon names of the pokemons from 1-251 and the English names from the 4th generation. Never played the third.

The sketches are great man. Some are oddly shapen though, Voltorb for example.

I love the Poliwag.

What's with the bottom though?
