Just got back from seeing it with a couple of friends...we were the only ones in the theatre for it

Better than I thought it was, though. As it picked up there were more than a few moments that we laughed, but I think the number of moments that garnered mockingly monotone "ha ha ha"s outweighed the moments that were genuinely funny. Lotta "AND THAT IS THE JOKE" moments.

I swore I heard Michelle Ruff and John DiMaggio in there, but sadly that wasn't the case. All celebs this time around, but they did a good job I think. The main four characters really stood out, though the main character Susan didn't really strike me as interesting until a little into the movie. When we got out, my one friend said he liked the four main characters more than the actual plot or concept of the movie itself, which I guess still serves a purpose in the end, like maybe they just weren't made use of incredibly well? I dunno.

Also the animation was some of Dreamworks' best actually, they did a lot of interesting things with the way the characters were designed. BOB's design (the blue blob thing) lent itself well to some funny visual gags, he was built like those sparkly goop/silly puddyish substances and what not. The giant alien robot that's seen in the trailer has some cool stuff to it when it gets into action, as well as the villain character that commands it.

So it's worth a good time, might be worth waiting to rent it, but I didn't think it was a waste seeing it in theatres. Also, without spoiling anything, the end as you could expect, spots for a sequel, but something that comes in during the credits almost says they're WON'T be a sequel. Can't tell really, ah well it'll most likely be the former.

it reminded me of mario cause there was this one part where a robot squishes the blob guy and that is like mario cause mario squishes things

Urgh, dreamworks

Is it filled with pop culture references, 80's and 90's hits for the soundtrack, 'sassy' characters, and a half-assed attempt at a moral near the end?

I thought the trailer was horrifyingly bad so I probably won't watch it, even though it might be an okay movie

Not so much this time around. There were more than a few references, but not so many blatant pop-culture ones or at least not to a ridiculous amount I felt. Stpehen Colbert's character plays a bunch of recognizable songs on the keyboard, Dr. Cockroach has a DDR sequence...not sure if I could classify any of 'em as sassy, they were quirky. Some of the main characters were more interesting than others but they all served their purpose. Morals? Maybe, but if so they didn't smash you over the head with them, by the end you kinda accept them all for what they are.

you could tell that this was awful from the title. i stumbled upon some making of deal and they had a camera that they would point at a projected version of the movie to do the ever popular shakey cam and other wonderful effects. i sat and thought "lol vcam".

^^^^^^^^
True

Aditionally, they pull out beautiful sequels to everything they make!

I hope they dont do the same with

I also dislike how they only use celebs to voice everyone. its like they think this way they will get more people to watch the damn thing, even if that celebrity only says 2 stupid lines thru movie.

lenko

Kung Fu Panda was pretty good

It would probably be one of my fave movies if it was animated like the intro sequence

Quote from: dicksinthebuttI liked antz

antz hasnt aged well

neither has toy story, but in toy story you cant see the POLYGONS that make up objects

seriously in antz some of the backround leaves look like they fell out of reboot
its kinda funny now

it still has some beautiful parts though. like the queen's chandelier nest and the water.
