Yeah the perspective in the first one is kinda off. Still going to finish it though as it is expressive.

edit: in the finished version the arms will work with the perspective aswell. Or well, I hope they will.

yeah it does. how do you do soft shading anyway? i don't think my process is right. i cell-shade and then blur the shit out of it so it looks kinda like a gradient?

Well I don't know if you're using a tablet or not. If you aren't then you should keep to cell shading until you get yourself a tablet.

Anyway; you kind of inbetween the colors by using pressure on the pen. I usually start forming the character with the darker colors first and then "recover" the whole painting with lighter and lighter colors.

Hard to explain, you should watch some tutorials really. There's a lot of ways I suppose but here's one.
