looks pretty good vincent. nice use of gradients and that flash graphic style.

personally i think using 8-bit sprites to translate to hi-def is a stupid idea, because 8-bit sprites are so lacking in character detail. but in this case, pinky is a very simple sprite. so it works.

about your comment, well, that's the point of the art contest. just redrawing a 16-bit sprite isn't fun, isn't original, is stupid. You CAN redraw it with high res, OR, you could 'redraw' an 8-bit sprite, in your own interpretation (adding on details, expressions etc...).

in this case, the sprite has enough infromation about the character to develop it into a hi-def rendition. in other words, it's a well-designed sprite. what i'm talking about is your typical 8-bit sprite with very minimal information to work off of, such as this popular example:

now, while we all know what mario looks like, if you gave that to someone who didn't, i doubt they could give you an accurate portrayal of his character.
