I am sad, I won a tablet and I haven't recieved it and in 7 years of animating I haven't won a contest... I wish one of these days I'll get profit for what I do, I can't even make a fucking website with my own money as I have no money of my OWN. I guess I'll keep practicing and join more collabs and be around, but I don't wanna sell out and make videogame related shit for popularity... Someday soon I'll start selling sculptures I make and stuff I'll keep you guys updated, they are well made and have a reasonable price...

Also, If anyone wants to hire me for any kind of animation work I'm up to it. God, I would even make hentai and sprite stuff just to see how my hard work pays off...falling so low hah.

Anyways, A VERY OLD COLLAB I ORGANIZED will be out for Valentines, I'll keep you guys and the blog updated.

Thanks.

do you animate strictly in 3's or 2's or something?
it looks like some of your nicer animation was spoiled where there could have been more inbetweens.
your easing is definitely there, but i think it would help if you stuck a few individual frames in.
though all of that could have been lag.

anyway, you got a pretty generous score, so you must be happy with that.

the animation was pretty good, but i share the same complaint as shirtturtle. also, you didn't really play with color much. the kid playing indoors all warm was the same color temp as the homeless guy outside. but it's very hard to tell .. i mean you could have had the inside of that house look SO warm with yellows and oranges and reds, and then have the homeless guy in a bleak, cold and blue environment, especially since it was night outside. and the red light from "ruphold"s nose would have really stuck out against those blues.

what i'm trying to say is that color could have played a very big and important part in your animation, but you seemed to set it aside as all the colors are pretty basic.

as far as winning contests/earning money etc, i think there's two problems you're having:

first is that you're conciously trying to always win contests and money. if that's what you have on your mind, you're generally going to fail.

secondly you'll never win newgrounds contests with an amibitious fbf project unless the storytelling is simply brilliant. if you can't guarantee that, you should probably cater to the low-end audiences with a script riddled with dick jokes, cutaways and gags completely unrelated to an ultimately contrived plot. works every time!

also, telling people to hire you never works. you need to apply for animation jobs.

get together a portfolio, a reel, a resume, a reference list, and a letter to each company telling them why you want to work for them, what you like about them and what you'll do for them.

Thanks for all the C&C guys, yeah I think that's my problem, sometimes I just join the contests for the sake of the contest, but this time I was quite inspired with the animation, it had a story but I didn't manage to follow it, I also have to work really hard in my storytelling.

About colors, I'm really bad at them, but I'll try experimenting a bit more... I really get what you said and yeah, the outside should've been lots more cold. I am just happy that I finished this, as I am getting used to really finish stuff instead of just letting it die.
