These are the first two drawings in my new sketchpad i bought today
Yeah, i know it's not great. i still have issues with faces and perspective. i get really inspired by comic book females =P
advice/criticism would be much appreciated! =)

more to come!

FG_SPace

the ear is too far back which makes the head size look weird since there's so much empty space on her face. other than that pretty good, put up some more stuff :B

I'm not sure if it's me or anything but
The bottom sketch's ear is pretty small
But it's probably just me.
They do look like a most "comic book females!"

rtil

i like the side view the most

i would avoid outlining lips, try using a soft tone for the upper lip and a short line indicating the bottom of the lower lip

Michelle

i wish i could do noses like that :[

i see how the ear is too small, but is it really too far back? how much closer should i bring it?

Hammi

Yeah what rtil said

the side view is very nice. Add a slight and small line under her lip instead. That oughta do good. And tone the upper lip only a lil... damn it rtil took the words outta my mouth.

Well her ear though, it should be longer. Not like stretched out but, make sure that the top of the ear lines up with her eye brows. The bottom point is on an OK level though (lining up with the nose tip). The ear placement on the other hand, its so-so. Bring it just a lil more closer towards her face. Just a lil, some few millimeters no biggie. Just try imagining the size of her face from different perspectives while moving her ear. Hopefully you will see how her jaw point will line up to the ear in a consistent way.

I like your pencil strokes on her hair, but when it comes to drawing her neck/throat and other outlining parts it falls down on a different level of lining. Rtil told me once to have only some few strokes as possible, and the accuracy depends on the way you hold your pencil. You can also choose to bold out the outlines (make the parts "active, in use", closer), by carefully going over the same lines. Dont overdo it though. The weight of your hand also decides the quality of your drawings. Only you can decide the amount of pressure added to your lines, use it thoughtfully!

Pretty decent, and im most certain that you will do better. If you got more, then ill be happy to comment on your drawings. I enjoy watching artists grow, it also gives me some of the confidence to do my work better.

Just very very slightly, the ear should be where the jawbone goes up.

Fast mspaint edit, something like this (now it looks kinda boxy but oh well):

oh and yeah, the ear should be bigger than my shape there, yes.

You can feel that spot on yourself. I usually never look in the mirror for reference when I do stuff like this, lol. To me it's easier to feel my way of the structure of a face.

I sound kinda blind..

ANYWAY, I like your stuff. It's very clean, keep that up.

shura

thanks for the advice boys ;D
you've been tremendously helpful

Here's just another drawing. i didn't add a face because i hate drawing faces D:
it started out as just a body sketch, but i decided to add clothing after i saw them in a magazine. i usually don't draw clothing =P
anywho, i tried to make my lines look clean[er] than they usually do. i know it's still sloppy looking.

I'm also sorry for the shitty quality of the pics. i would KILL for a scanner, but until i get one, im stuck taking pics with my shitty webcam.  i couldn't zoom it much farther without truncating some limbs. sorry =[

Greenkitten

I really like that pose for some reason...

SnawsBall

I would contribute to these types of threads if I had doodles laying around but I more flash with my mouse then make still doodles. If I had a scanner I would make my own thread or some shit but yeah, once I get all of my files saved I'm taking it to GeekSquad or whoever the fuck they are to get the fukken thing fixed since I have some money now. (my tablet doesn't work, computer issues)

That's pretty nice, but I feel like the shoulder's and the whole arm feels like sticks. Sorta stiff and all. But it is very nice.

ok

Nice drawings Sashura, but yeah my computer is so fucking weird most flash drives won't even work/appear on my computer, I'm definitely going to get shit fixed, but I said that weeks ago, and now there's tons of snow so traffic would be a bitch.

it might just be the fact it's a photo, but i am getting a couple weird things from the pose
  • she seems to be leaning to the right a little
  • her shoulder line is not counteracting her hips. some tilt on those would add to the illusion that she is walking
  • arms feel a little stiff
other than that, i like it. the legs are very nice

yeah i see that. when i started drawing her, i originally intended her to be just standing. but when i got down to the legs i decided to make her walking instead. lmao yeah i forgot to fix the shoulders. if you look at the legs, it seems like she's walking, but when you look at the torso, it looks like she's just standing...

ima fix that! good thing i did this one in pencil

mishkamash

i really like it

it looks a lot like one of those catwalk models, which is probably what you saw in the pic you drew from
i suggest looking at more pictures of those models and study at how their body moves, like the hips, arms and shoulders as rtil mentioned

those are my two cents
<lenko> i saw a hedgehog on the way home if i was drunk i would have yelled IM DOCTOR RRRRROBOTNIK and chased it

funzop

nice noses and nice legs
FUCK YOU SASHA
