It actually wasn't that bad. It's riddled with cliches', but I don't think they were cliches' back then. All in all, it wasn't that bad. But I think some parts are kind of hard to take seriously, like jibberish-talking teddy bears.

Well he mentioned Ewoks, so I assume it's Empire Strikes Back.

Anyway, alot of those cliches WERE cliches then, but Star Wars was just a silly space opera. Lucas never intended for anyone to take it seriously in the first place, it just grew to be that way through a bunch of fans. It was more an allegory than anything else. It made it's point about the thin line between good and evil, justice and corruption, and it did it using puppets and laser lights. What more could you want?

Plus you could learn alot of what not to do in a movie by watching the new ones.

Not including that animated mini-series on Cartoon network that ran a while ago which my brother told me wasn't to bad.

the only good star wars films are the Ewok Adventures. So good they bypassed the cinemas and went direct to DVD!!

i re-watched a new hope a few months ago and I remember it shocked me how bad it was in comparison to how I remembered it... even for the time it was released, it seemed fairly light-hearted. They've definitely become much darker and serious through time, which may or may not be a good thing

^ Yeah my brother still talks about it.
I found it surprising that he's the same person who made MCircuit or Move Your Feet.
The only thing that tied that flash to him was the top hat on the star destroyer, and I didn't get the top hats until I joined here much later...
