While I agree with you that animals can be eaten, should the person want to eat meat, I do not agree with the whole testing on animals thing.

Although we share many traits with our mammelian friends, as well as many other animals, we have too many differences to be able to say that what happens on a rabbit or a rat will have the same effect on a human. Personally, I think they should try to use human volunteers, because then people have made the decision to be tested on, made the decision that there would be a risk of suffering, all for making sure that new advancements do not have too many implications for others. Animals don't have that choice.

well, your mostly wrong. It's not unhealthy to be a vegetarian (this is important: vegetarians are not vegans) if you eat the things your suppose to eat, but i hate broccoli so thats why i take a handful of nutrient dense supplements every morning. I've only ever tried meat a couple of times, and not only did it taste like a bag of asses, but it made me sick to my stomach; because having never eaten meat growing up, my body never developed the digestive enzymes required to deal with all the useless crap thats actually in meat. and besides; if i want to eat all kinds of nasty infectious mad cow ridden meat, i'd do it; but i don't. so i wont.

i have a few friends who have gone vegan/vegetarian after eating meat when they grew up. a lot of people do it for health reasons, not for animal rights causes. while it is terrible how some of the meat is processed in this country, there isn't a whole lot we can do about it. i mean, i'd feel less guilty eating free range meats, but whose to say the label on the package is telling the truth?

my best friend is vegan and she is very healthy , but can get sick very easily. she just has to be careful what she eats, since her body isn't used to fatty and oily foods anymore. it is an 'inconvenient' lifestyle maybe, but i don't see why people have to get upset over other people's life choices , especially when they involve diets. they're not hurting anyone by changing their diets. people eat what they want. if you're a vegetarian/vegan and you don't complain about the ones who want to eat their quarter pounder with cheese and a large fry, they have no reason to complain about their tofu vegetable salad.

i will mention that all my vegetarian/vegan friends have never been involved with PETA in their lifetimes, and don't plan on it. they hate the organisation as much as anyone else.

this doesn't mean you're a vegetarian it means that you don't like meat and there is a big difference

vegetarians choose not to eat meat, regardless of taste. they do it for retarded reasons like they don't want to eat animals

you just don't like the taste of meat so you don't eat it.

There is a good, actually, a pretty huge range of food (and suppliments) to cover a vegetarian and vegan lifestyle, it's just a case of being able to find them. I mean, I know lots of nice non-meat products that I'd prefer over a burger. A good deal of my diet is pasta and rice with sauces.
