well i've never really seen this show until the last couple of days since everyone has been making a big deal about the season finale. and i gotta say that i was pleasantly surprised. for an american-style anime on nickelodeon this show is really good. sometimes the dialogue is awkward/bad and they tie in these boyfriend/girlfriend drama into it but other than that it's top notch and the animation (ESPECIALLY in the season finale) is fantastic. mind you it's mostly done by koreans but it's the first good american anime i've ever seen. i mean i was really impressed by the season finale, almost enough to make me want to start at the beginning and watch all the way through. the hype is definitely there for a reason - this isn't crap like ben 10 or totally spies.

Hmm, maybe I'll give it a try. The last American-Anime (some segments done by Madhouse though) series I watched so far was The Boondocks and I didn't really like it that much.

i've been watching it for a while

its very cute and has actual smooth fluid animation

its also apparently very expensive to produce

The show could have turned into a cliched' piece of crap if they had been lazy, but the unique storytelling (Nobody was completely evil, you heard everybody's side of the story), the pacing, the animation and the hundred or so supporting characters, who I cared much more about than Aang, turned it into something great. Zuko and his uncle were my favorite characters.

then again, pretty much the only anime i CAN stomach is miyazaki

Yeah I agree but it's also sad that the original voice for Uncle Iro passed. if u notice i think in the 2nd book where the characters have their own story. The Uncle was celebrating his deceased son's birthday wich i found out that episode was to the voice actor Uncle, In memory of Mako...

well not really

discovery channel is fantastic imo

history channel has just stolen some of their ideas. discovery's big show right now is "deadliest catch" which is a good reality show about alaskan crab fishermen. history channels version of that show is "ice road truckers" which is about truckers who drive over thin ice to deliver shit in alaska. dont know what that has to do with history but its an OK show
