so basically I have a graphic that has a few other graphics moving inside it and I'm trying to use that as a mask for another graphic.

is there any way to do that? flash is being a big shit and only using one of the graphics in the graphic as a mask and ignoring the other ones.
let's all set our phasers on "boring"

I don't really know. Tried using a movieclip instead of graphic?

(broke apart the graphics inside the graphic)

loathsome is right, always use movieclips. If you want to make a .gif graphics are better though!

movieclips are good if you need AS to work inside of a symbol
I have more of a life writing this review at 1145 pm than you guys do making these movies. . .

movieclips are only good for loops and AS.

I used to only use movieclips but graphics make things a lot easier so yeh.

im pretty sure most flash games would be impossible to make without movieclips
I have more of a life writing this review at 1145 pm than you guys do making these movies. . .

why are people arguing about Movie Clips and Graphics and which one is better? They each serve their purpose and the best results come from using both I'd venture to guess.

I prefer not to see everything moving when I animate. I'd rather see it when exported, that's why I use it. And you can put stop(); in the end of the movieclip if you want it to stop, too.
