Learn how to use perspective and fbf. Please don't use line tool that much, it's also very inflexible.  Use anipedia for tutorials too btw!

Lmao, the line tool can be VERY flexible if you know how to use it right.

Also, it's ok for a first thing, you should try to get more into frame by frame animation right from the beginning, instead of tweening. It's what the cool people do.

The Line Tool is great for getting perfectly clean lines, thats why it's called the line tool, I personally find it to be a huge pain in the ass to work with though because it takes a simple brushstroke and turns it into a tedious fucking job involving lots of pain in the ass faggotry. But still, great for getting perfect cleanliness, which sometimes you're going to have to achieve so yeah.

The only reason I started out doing FBF more than Tweening when I started using flash is because of years of hearing my brother say that Flash is a "poser animator" program and that only Pencil to Paper FBF is real animation and yeah so he's pretty gay like that. But still that's why I'm better at FBF.

I would like to learn advanced Tweening and Masking techniques though.
Oh, wretched ephemeral race ... why do you compel me to tell you what it would be most expedient for you not to hear? What is best of all is utterly beyond your reach: not to be born, not to be, to be nothing. But the second best for you is—to die soon.

i played around in the program for a while and asked people. flash is something you can learn in probably less than 6 months, but most people space it out and are still learning new things even after years of doing it (like psi)

sQueef

yeah you can learn basics in 6 months pretty much but it takes a long time to be able to just whip up golden movies every time you make a new flash document!

I'd say half a year will get you to an intermediate level of expertise. But im just projecting my 6 months or so of experience onto this post.

I dunno if it's really possible to improve on the current swf. Looks better than about 95% of anything on NG atm.

Because everyone knows linetool/pencil tool has such a great penpressure and that it's so awesome that you actually can tweak it's thickness with the pointer!!!!
