what are th best drawing classes you've taken

cuz ive basically doodled my whole life, i only took one real art class. i need to improve my skills... basically all i can do right now is copy other stuff, my own style is kinda iffy.

i hear figure drawing is an excellent class for improving your skills but you have to look at old naked men for hours on end. and i would like a class more relevant to animation style drawing, since im taking classes at the ucla animation workshop right now. also i fucking hate anime so anything involvin that is out of the question

figure drawing. contrary to popular belief though you do not draw old naked men. at least around here it's probably 60% women and 40% men, and most of them are young and very fit. if they weren't, they wouldn't be able to do dynamic poses and show how the body works in movement

Well, I never took any art class (unless the one at primary school counts) and I'm ashamed to say that I start with drawing anime

I try to practice drawing various stuffs and things. Pretty much just doodle like you did.

I never took any artclasses actually. I've been doing figure drawing from websites. Works as well for me. Google pose maniacs and you'd probably find it. Although, I'd like to take classes (yet I don't know how much difference that'd make) to improve too. At least try it.

what i hate about pose maniacs are the retarded camera angles. still, it's better than nothing

however, a lot of art museums have life drawing sessions a few times a week, it's typically as cheap as $5, and it's about ten thousand times better than the shit you can learn from the internet

drawing it in the flesh is so much better than seeing it on a flat screen. you will benefit from actually drawing real people

Well, I didn't really have classes... I learned by looking at people, or looking in mirrors. At times I copied poses around til I understood how that pose worked... It's kind of like looking at how people bake a cake, then baking that cake. It'll be your own different cake but it'll still be a cake.






Okay, bad example, but if you don't have the money for classes like most have suggested, just practice with pictures, people in places, or even yourself with a mirror.

i think im ok at drawing faces and hands i just need to learn figure drawin and maybe anatomy so i can get a more fluid and realistic motion in my animation without looking too much like anime.

I agree. I think I was being a bit misleading there.

I'd actually take those lessons if I'd be able to. I need to search for this a bit more I guess. Oh and by the way; Since it's nude, is there any age limitations? Not that it would matter since I'm 18 in may but I'm just curious.

yeah there probly is age limits

if they let 15 yr old boys come in, they would just sit there with boners not drawing shit and occasionally leaving to go to the bathroom and whack off. on the days when nude men were the models, theyd ditch class
