ok i got some acting crap that i wanna upload here

Tom Fern, a character i'm planning on using for a cartoon, just thought of it now:[attachment=698:Tom_Fern.wav]
p.s. i mess up when he says "Oh yeah" and made it sound like another person, but w/e

Tom is a pretty negative guy but is pretty chill, and he's the main character.
also i'm still working on the writing whatever, so right now is not so great dialog :/

an impersonation of Mario:[attachment=699:Mario.wav]

more coming later
<lenko> i saw a hedgehog on the way home if i was drunk i would have yelled IM DOCTOR RRRRROBOTNIK and chased it

Hey, that was pretty good! I notice how Charles always does that sound after he says It's a me, Mario. That was pretty good though...

Oh, about the first one, loved that one too. Sounds pretty interesting. I didn't really notice the "Oh yeah" until you mentioned it. Then I was listening out for it. Well, if you're thinkin' about voice acting, you'd do an awesome job at it. Not too many people can switch from some criminal named Tom to an Italian plumber. Also, I'm not sure if it was an edit, but it sounds like you almost negated the bass out of the microphone. I also noticed how you kinda don't finish some of yor words, or they slur or fade out...one of those things. It's like an accent. It gives me chills in the beginning when he says "Every day's different for me." Good work

then again, sorry for that question

It's ok. The background noise is a little annoying on the first one. The Mario was ok but I don't like Mario too much.

Hmm... What program do you use to record? I ran your Tom Fern clip through Audacity and was able to remove most of the background noise/static. Then applying a bit of the Low Pass Filter tool made your voice sound closer in proximity, and I think it definitely turned out better as a result. [attachment=717:Tom_Fern.mp3]
Most any decent recording software carries these tools. ...Though if you're using Windows Sound Recorder, shame on you.

Regarding the performance itself -- Giving a strong delivery of a serious monologue is HARD, but for the most part you sold the emotion and character really well. A very believable read, and I was thoroughly impressed. You pace yourself well, make good use of word emphasis, and never sounded too monotonous.

As Shadowfox noted, you do have a habit of really dropping your energy/projection and fading at the end of a few sentences. Now, this can be okay to a degree, but it becomes a problem when the listener has difficultly making out exactly what it is that you're saying, so watch out for that. Clarity is essential.

A couple notes on the actual dialogue:

Put a brief pause after "One day I'm robbing a bank..." That split-second pause gets the listener expecting something, and it makes the rest of the line mean that much more.

"Until a heist went off wrong." is only line that you seemed to stumble through. You started too high, and then paced it somewhat awkwardly. Wording probably isn't the best though. It might be better as "Until that one heist." or "Until one heist went wrong.".
Another tip, I often like to put a sigh inbetween when moving from a positive line to a negative one. I find that it really aids the tone transition, and while still providing a natural flow.

"King of the city, he was."
*sigh*
"Until..."

And lastly, it sounds like a mouse-click made it's way into the very end of your last line. Not everyone will notice small things like that, but it's still something to be careful about.

I hope you keep at this though. You've got great ability and I wanna hear more from you.

Onto your Mario.

I HATE Mario. But at the same time, that clip was excellent. Interestingly, it lacked any major background static. Could maaaaybe use a bit more energy on the "Hoo! Hoo!" but it's a superb imitation none the less. Now the tricky and more valuable part though, is the ability to apply that same "Mario-esque" delivery to dialogue that Charles Martinet hasn't delivered before.

i did use audacity for recording
i have been to some acting camps like NYFA, and maybe learning acting there might have had an effect on voice acting too, i guess

Tom- i noticed the slurring shadowfox mentioned, too, so i'll keep that in mind
and those speech tips
alright

Mario- thank you

Thats neat I would like to use your sound clips but I'm not gonna. So i'm just gonna leave you with, "Good job. Keep it up (y)"
Oh, wretched ephemeral race ... why do you compel me to tell you what it would be most expedient for you not to hear? What is best of all is utterly beyond your reach: not to be born, not to be, to be nothing. But the second best for you is—to die soon.

Sonni

The Mario one was... meh

But Tom Fern one is much much better.

it would be awesome if you could do a Homoerotic sounding Egoraptor for use in my upcoming epic, "Egoraptor: Gay Porn Legend" oh yea. I'll do one about Wonchop too and it will rely heavily on mediocre artwork and motion tweening.
