I think I'm probably a Libertarian leaning liberal. I dunno. To be perfectly honest, I didn't get into politics until a month ago. >_> I also want to look into the Green party. They seem very similar to Democrats.

i just got done canvassing about 300 places, and i'm noticing the problem with america is this whole idea of slapping a party name on a candidate. the words 'democrat' and 'republican' mean jack shit, people. you just need to affiliate yourself with either one to have a chance at winning an election these days.

I hate how some people will never consider Ron Paul just because he's a Republican. If California's primaries were open, I doubt my mom would ever consider voting for him simply because he's a Republican. That and my mom is a huge Hilary supporter. :/ My dad on the other hand would probably consider voting for Ron Paul if the California primaries were open. According to Wikipedia, "closed primary serves to encourage party unity and prevent members of other parties from infiltrating and voting to nominate weak candidates." Absolute bullshit.

well i'm not sure but i do remember since we started talking about politics a while ago wac has had a looooooot of questions and i'm sure his political scope has changed some

I looked through a bunch of old topics today and I never said I wouldn't consider him just because he's a Republican. When this place first started to talk about politics a lot, I somewhat kept my mouth shut due to the fact I knew very little about politics at the time. I regret not getting into it sooner. Once I took government, politics became a lot more interesting to me. Also, I really hate how I can't vote for Ron Paul. If I can't decide between the three evils by February 5th, I'll just vote for Gravel. FYI, I retook that political match game recently and my results were the following:

1. Dennis Kucinich
2. Mike Gravel
3. Ron Paul

I also took two other political quizzes in the past and got fairly similar results. On all four political quiz things I've taken in the past, I always got Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel for the top two. I assume they're fairly similar candidates.

I said maybe because I want cigarettes banned but completely ending the war on drugs might be a good idea.

"End government barriers to international free trade."

I don't know enough about the subject so I simply answered "maybe". If I said yes, my results would've been "Liberal Libertarian".

"Cut taxes and government spending by 50% or more."

I said maybe because it really depends on what the money would get spent on.

well yes it is a very small quiz, probably too small to tell you what you really are, but it can give you a general idea. the site brings up a good point that a lot of people actually vote for candidates they hardly agree with on anything. exit polling based on what people are looking for in a candidate almost never matches up with their personal beliefs.
i would say in this world most people are either libertarian or liberal at heart. there aren't a lot of true conservatives or statists out there.

They could at least ban smoking in public places and ban smoking around children. 2nd hand smoke is really bad and I was around it a lot back when I was a young child.

americans eat food that's worse than cigarette smoke. you already can't smoke in 90% of buildings and what constitutes a 'public place' could mean a lot of things. it's a waste of time and wouldn't really do anyone any good. like most liberal philosophies, a public smoking ban would just cost americans billions of tax dollars and would really not benefit anyone.
