It looks pretty weird without outlines. And the colors that are smudged together look really weird, too.

I'm not sure what you're saying... It's an unfinished painting. Why would there be outlines?

And yeah, it's George Bush playing the violin with a sword. It was leaflet art for a friends CD which was really political, then he changed alot and I realized the picture wasn't cool, so I stopped.

the way you blend colors gives your finished pieces a real muddy feeling. if you want to go for that hand-painted look, i would try lying down the solid colors first, then smudging or whatnot later. it also helps if you give it a background first. even just something rather than a wash of white. because the character seems to be in a night situation, lit by a white lit and a purple light somewhere straight on towards him. still, your placement of the purple seems rather random and the hue of it doesn't change based on what surface it's hitting. if it's hitting the suit, it's going to be a more bluer washed out purple, and if it's hitting his skin, it's going to be a lighter, more red purple. still, this does vary based on the intensity of the light, but it will never look the same for each surface.

That's pretty much what I meant earlier.

SHADOWFOX2

It looks cool. It's like he went for a multicolored suit. His left side looks a bit disfigured though...

then again, sorry for that question

For some reason, that kind of reminds me of WPS' style.

Yeah. I didn't give it much though, just started slapping shit here and there. I actually didn't blend of smudge a single thing in either of those though. I also did lay down the solid colours first, haha.

Next time Around I'll do the background first though.

As a side note, the purple bits aren't a result of lighting, they're just random purple. It's not hitting the character as you say, but rather just on the character. Still it's obvious I could execute that in a much better fashion, because it wasn't apparent my intention.

yeah i'd say the 'random bits of color' thing isn't helping you out very much

paintings are great but i think your pig sketches were much more impressive for some reason
i am dead

<+wwchicken> once i walked into the kitchen and there was a sound
<+wwchicken> but i could only hear it when i stood on one spot in the kitchen
<+wwchicken> then i turned off the light
<+wwchicken> and it was gone
<+wwchicken> then i turned the light back on and there it was again
<+wwchicken> so i thought, its an invisible alien
<+wwchicken> but hes scared of the dark

Work on Anatomy
Oh, wretched ephemeral race ... why do you compel me to tell you what it would be most expedient for you not to hear? What is best of all is utterly beyond your reach: not to be born, not to be, to be nothing. But the second best for you is—to die soon.
