Ron Paul reaches $18 mil in private donations

Ron Paul has broken records today getting over 18 million USD in private donations from individual private citizens (not corporations or rich hollywood stars) for his campaign, almost completely through the internet.

He is winning almost all of the straw polls and now even has his own blimp. Ron Paul has bounced back from being an underdog the media often insulted to surpassing all the other canidates in donations and by many is expected to win the Republican primaries.

He is the first non-rich man to over have overwhealming support for the presidency in almost half a century, thanks entirely to donations from private citizens. (Capped at $2,300 each max)

Ron Paul has also been recieving overwhealming support from google inc, the worlds largest search engine. (Although no donations have been made).

Normally im a democrat, but Ron Paul made me change my mind this time around.

well actually the only reason Ron Paul is in the republican party is because he believes in small government
otherwise he's pretty liberal

as far as the other candidates go, I have three categories:
people I like, people I'm okay with, and people I don't like
obama is in the okay category
Mike Huckabee and Fred Thompson are in the NO WAY category

if you would actually do your research you'd find out he's not the kind of republican that exists today
he's the kind of republican you would have seen 30 or 40 years ago, and in that day and age you'd probably be saying "he's a democrat, that's a point off for him."

what i mean is that the words "democrat" and "republican" change almost every decade. ten years ago republicans were about small government and anti-war, and now they're considered warmongers and frivolous spenders. they've gone through a role reversal through only two terms.

ron paul is at heart a libertarian or a constitutionalist as he likes to call himself. he wants to fix everything that's wrong with the republican party, and the country for that matter.

and if you think that all the democratic candidates are going to reverse everything that bush has done, think again. socially they are liberal, but a lot of them do not understand economics and will be passive on foreign policy (because they have no experience in it). they will spend more money than bush ever did in office.

he was only the governor of texas for 4 years. he tried to run for the US House of Reps in the 70's but failed to receive a nomination.

being a governor in this day and age offers you only limited experience in government. he still had no experience in foreign policy, federal administration or war-time regiment. he also passed college with only average marks.

obama has been a senator for 10 years, 6 of them being spent in the capitol. he has had far more experience than George W Bush. so that comparison is irrelevant. hillary only bumps him on experience because she has more.

the only problem with obama is that he is riding on the wings of oprah winfrey and an anti-hillary platform, pointing fingers and calling her a meanie.

he talks about giving 'hope' to the nation and solving america's problems, but he never talks about how he's going to do it. people typically express support for barack for either three reasons - he's black, he's young and handsome, and he's not hillary clinton.

if you actually look into his political positions, he's a socialist. universal health care, expanding our empire in the middle east as a "pillar of democracy", amnesty for 12 million illegal immigrants, and gradual removal of the 2nd amendment. he's a global warming drone and thinks that making this country a free-for-all grab bag will solve all our problems.
