Really cool tatts - i always like it when a sleeve has a theme rather than just a nasty ass assortment of bad ideas

Bamyasi

Is this the thread in which we critique slack's life choices.

slack

you can do whatever you like!

Bamyasi

Well in that case I'll say you're pretty cool!

89.3 is also the best station where I live.

What's the Tolkein sleeve say?
almost a month old quote, but here goes

the elvish script on my arm says "Aure Entuluva" which translates to "Day shall come again!"

here is the context

"Last of all Hurin stood alone. Then he cast aside his shield, and wielded an axe two-handed; and it is sung that the axe smoked in the black blood of the troll-guard of Gothmog until it withered, and each time that he slew he cried: 'Aure entuluva! Day shall come again!' Seventy times he uttered that cry; but they took him at last alive, by the command of Morgoth, for the Orcs grappled him with their hands, which clung to him still though he hewed off their arms; and ever their numbers were renewed, until at last he fell buried beneath them. Then Gothmog bound him and dragged him away to Angband with mockery."

but anyway, new ink

Well I'm definitely at least 60% sure that's the shape of an American state on your right arm.

Have you found the hand tattoos have been fading at all? Last example I was given was a guy who had his beginning to noticeably fade after ~6 months, but then his weren't as nice and colourful as yours.

slack

the knuckle tattoos are harder to heal properly, but the ones on the back of my hand are still looking very sharp

Cool cool. So how often did the tattooist recommend you apply cream, and how often do you actually do it? I don't mean specifically the hands, because they're probably one of the easier and less uncomfortable places to do so.
Also have you gotten all these done at the same place? I had a friend who swore by the one artist (and had many done), but it didn't really click with me that he didn't have any coloured ones until another friend was all like "yo no tha's a bad idea dawg" so I called up and just got the outline done for now. The first place I went was five years ago in Dublin and I was pretty happy with that but the place has since shut up shop, so that's sad.

Edit: Actually they just moved, so that's not so sad.

slack

they recommend that you just keep the area from getting dry, i use aquaphor, but simple unscented lotion will do. only have to do that for a week or two, and also use sunscreen as needed.

and yeah, i did get them all done at the same place, i dont have any complaints about the colored tattoos but all my tattoos are less than a year old so i dont really know about long-term fading
