there's a new-ish version called dm_mariokart3_v1

it's quite large for a tf2 map (~70mb) but now i have a download server set up so it should download as fast as your dl speed can go

added you to reserved slot

experimenting with ultimate-mapchooser extension instead of tf2's esc menu mapvote. here's how it should work (i haven't got a chance to really test it yet):
during a match, say !nominate and pick a map from the groups that you'd like to be in the vote pool
when there are 6 minutes left in a map, the following vote options should be available to everyone:

  • the nominated maps
  • 2 random CP maps and 1 random CTF, KOTH and PL or PLR map
  • the option to extend the current map (for 15 minutes)
  • the option not to change the current map
again this is what it should be doing based on how i've set it up, but there's no real way to debug or test it without actually playing a few rounds, so let me know how it's actually behaving and we'll go from there.

if it ends up being annoying or not as good as the built-in tf2 thing then i'll change it. but i wanted to try UMC because it has a lot more options and doesn't require an escape menu to function.

if you have any other ideas for how mapvotes should function i'm all ears. sadly i can't add RTV because it doesn't compile anymore.

also, you can still vote to kick or scramble teams from the escape menu

i've been playing with the ultimate mapchooser and i noticed there's no way to add any arena maps to the vote

fixed, same for community maps, territory control and special delivery

melee mode has also been added. only admins and VIPs can call for a !votemelee

added roll the dice. say rtd in chat during a round to get a chance at receiving a buff. but there is a risk - you have a chance to receive a debuff as well. pubs get a 40% chance to receive a buff, VIPs and admins get 50%. effects last for 15 seconds

    Good Effects:
  • godmode - Invulnerability to bullets, falling, and map traps.
  • toxic - Your horrible breath kills anyone near you.
  • lucky sandvich - An instant health boost and the next shot will be a crit. Good luck!
  • faster speed - Faster move speed.
  • low gravity - Lower gravity than everyone else.
  • unlimited uber - A couple seconds of uber to show the other team who's boss.
  • invisibility - Now you see me - now you don't. Go invisible - even to sentries!
  • cloak - Your spy watch won't run out for the duration of this effect.
  • crits - Constant crits without the requirement of hacks!
  • infinite ammo - No need to reload - we've got you covered!
  • scary bullets - Any players you hurt become scared like tiny babies.
  • instant sentry - Point at a spot and call for a medic to spawn a sentry.
  • homing projectiles - Rockets/arrows/flares will fly at enemies to save the bother the aiming.
  • instant charge - Your sniper rifle and bow charge up instantly.
  • dispenser pop-up - Point at a spot and call for a medic to spawn a dispenser. Stays after the effect has ended.
  • infinite double jump - The scout is no longer limited by 2 or 3 jumps.
  • tiny player - You have shrunk! Use this advantage to sneak past the enemy.
    Bad Effects:
  • explode - Sorry, you exploded where you stood. Just bad luck.
  • snail - Your move speed is slowed. Might win in a race against a cozy camper sniper.
  • frozen - All movement is frozen and you become an ice sculpture.
  • timebomb - You have seconds to live. Run towards the other team to deal damage when you die.
  • spontaneous combustion - Surprise, you're on fire!
  • low health - All your health is gone. Where did it go?
  • drugged - Flashes of color and tilted vision overtake your screen to distract you.
  • blind - Who turned the lights out?
  • stripped to melee - You lose your primary and secondary weapons.
  • beacon - An energy ring and pinging sound let the enemy know where you are.
  • taunt - You can't stop taunting.
  • nostalgia - Black and white vision.
  • earthquake - A rumble shakes your screen and affects those around you.
  • funny feeling - Increases your FOV to 160. Woooah..
  • mystery sauce - You are covered in jarate and milk and bleeding out.
  • big head - Hey big head!

this should be interesting

i should also mention it's not really spammable - every team can use rtd only once every 2 minutes

wait, each TEAM can only use it every 2 minutes? so if someone else on your team uses rtd, you gotta wait another 2 minutes?

yes

i can lower the delay, but i don't think setting it to each person is a good idea or there will be too much randomness happening

yeah, that's true, i guess let's see how it goes at 2 minutes/team

rtil

actually i just realized i have a different mode on. it's called legacy mode, where only one person can roll the dice at a time. the cooldown is 2 minutes per player. but it seemed ok for today so i'll just leave it for now.

also admins/VIPs please don't abuse !votemap too much - if the players don't want to !rtv then they want to keep playing on the map. changing the map too much, especially to a custom map that needs to be downloaded, is a way to kill off the server pop really quick.

slack

is there a way to modify the !nominate thing so you can nominate maps that were recently played?

or maybe change how many unique maps must be played before you can nominate a certain map?

rtil

it's currently set to exclude the last 3 recently played maps. i figured with a map pool as big as we have that it wouldn't be an issue. what would you prefer it be set to

slack

well as the server is empty most of the time, the "last 3 maps" are basically the last maps people played from the night before

rtil

that doesn't answer my question but i'll just set it to 1 instead of 3 then

rtil

#36
prophunt is installed

any map starting with "ph" is a prophunt map, you'll find it at the end of the maplist

there are some minor bugs but nothing gamebreaking

also if you're a prop, left click when you're done hiding to go into "lock" mode, you can move your camera around to look without moving your prop

slack

i just checked out the maplist, and holy shit there's a lot of prophunt maps

rtil

there's actually even more, but i didn't add them because they are prepended with "arena" and i didn't want to confuse prophunt maps with arena maps

slack

i had no idea there were so many prophunt maps
