i can't believe you like that show

what a fucking disgrace to cartoon network that was

why did they let it stay on the air for so long, it's disgusting

you are a stupid child if you ever liked that dumb show

I feel like I have to reply again because my first one was too simple and just opinionated. Seeing as KND is apparently coming back, I must give a more constructive response to your opinion on the show.

Yes you are entitled to dislike the show and that is fine but your hatred of the show is questionable. From your profile you are 24, and KND came around in late 2002, thus meaning you were about 12 at the time. Not too old to be an average viewer of KND but this show was really targeted to 6-11. The show got really big in 04-06 which is when you were about 14-16 which is older than the average KND viewer although of course some teens and people in their 20s watched in then.

Are you forgetting this was a show oriented towards kids, especially those 10 and under? For kids, KND was a GREAT show. Show an 8-year-old your average KND episode and they will be pumped, most likely. The show was fun, had great stories for kids, and the characters were relatable for most children. Graphics were bright, the characters were dynamic and there were so much build up with the villains like Father. How many 8-year-olds find the concept of kids traveling to space and having a moon base there BORING? Not that many, or at least in the times KND was on air. I'm answering YOUR question of why it was on the air for so long: because many kids LOVED the show. It was complex, fun, adventurous, everything! Not to mention there were always new characters being introduced into the show like Numbuh 362, and that German transsexual kid.

Why don't you imagine yourself as an elementary school aged kid, particularly under 10, and still tell me CODENAME: Kids Next Door was bad and uncreative. It was a very FUN show.

I kinda like shows like Adventure Time, kid or not, but they are just artsy slapstick shows. My sister who is 18 liked KND as a kid but she despises Adventure Time type shows because she thinks they are just shows of random stupidity. Shows like that Camp Lazlo or Cow and Chicken were a little fun but the first one especially was just FILLER. How many people even remember that lazlo show? Did it even have a big fanbase like Kids Next Door? Did it have intense plots, action, and dynamic characters? Not really, it was just cartoon fluff. Not bad, but it really relies on slapstick.

It's easy to be in your 20s or even over 13 and say "kids next door was ghey/lame/stupid" but I'm sure some of those people forget or deny their inner child that loved the show if they were a kid watching it. The show was so original and creative in contrary to many of the same average anticipated cartoons about talking monkeys doing random shit.

kids who are 13 today would have been 0 years old when the series came out

I meant when the show was on, it would be understandable at that time why many people over a certain age wouldn't like it. I am 21 and still like it partially for nostalgic reasons.

KND wasnt that shit but you know its not worthy of obsessing over like vesperia is B)

rtil

i'll believe KND has a cult following when they manage to scrape together a convention like Invader Zim did for a few years

i'm sure it would be at least 10x as cringworthy as that

Maybe not a big cult following but there are one or two KND fan forums online that are still going strong and the announcement of a possible KND spinoff has lead to the fanbase growing.

Plenty of KND fans on 4chan's /co/. There have been threads about the new KND video and many are pumped.

Nothing like IZ though. Invader Zim is okay, it's overrated to me but I see the appeal.

rtil

even the IZ fanbase didn't have the manpower to get a spinoff going and that actually had appeal beyond an audience of small children

Zim probably has legal issues that are preventing the show from being made again. I'm pretty sure they are aware the show is demanded for more episodes by tons of fans, but there are deeper issues. I feel like KND doesn't have issues like that and the creators are free and have the power to keep the series/franchise alive and well after all these years.

Also many preteeens, teens, and people in their 20s+ liked KND. One guy on IMDB gave KND a good review and said he was in his 50s and is a big animation buff. I'm sure he's not alone. KND was epic as hell.

Also many middle aged men like my little pony and I'm not questioning it... Although it is questionable

rtil

i'm talking about a fanmade spinoff not a reboot

vasquez doesn't give a shit about invader zim

whoever the fuck even made knd probably doesn't either
