A project for my editing sound and lighting class for trailer editing.  Probably, could have done a better job with more time.  All these scenes were filmed in like 8 hours with a skeleton crew after we met the dred pirate roberts black pearl ship and used ancient Aztec gold to turn regular college kids into lifeless, rotting, stinking, reanimated corpses who could not love, or enjoy a minute of their life; any of the sensual pleasures they once had, now felt like hot sand frictiously pushing its way down their throat--everything felt that way: eating, sex, singing, sleeping, swallowing sand--they would pray for it to stop only to be rewarded with a new death every second, no breath could sufficiently quell the gasping shallow breaths that asked for air--the feeling of drowning not only in the sensual sense, but in the cognitive way that a tragic figure has made a great fundamental mistake of "Why have I done this?  I no longer have the time to go back do I?" that is the definition of a skeleton crew. Anyone else who tells you differently has no experience in the film business.

as far as the trailer editing (pacing etc) goes it's pretty neat, could be a bit shorter
the photography in general isn't so hot and you could have done a bit of color correction to make up for that awful white balance you guys were using
also the dubstep didn't fit at all what the fuck

there was no photograhpy, there was cinenamtography but fuck me right?  I just put procam on and desaturated the shit out of it, the white balance was right before because I did everything on tungsten.  But yeh I had like 5 minutes to fine music so the dubstep was not the best choice but what is a nigga gonna do.

Actually Flash wasn't wrong. In filmmaking, "photography" can be used in reference to lighting, focus, composition (i.e. elements of photography), whereas "cinematography" refers to things like tracking, panning, zooming (i.e. elements of cinema), as well as the aforementioned stuff. This is why the head of the camera department can be called either the cinematographer or the Director of Photography. So yeah, just because you didn't really mess with the exposure or filtration and used a digital camera doesn't mean there wasn't photography involved. In fact, some truly puristic people (i.e. my father) would berate you for not saying "videography," but nobody really cares about film fetishists anymore lets be honest.

Also yes I laughed at the flag joke.

point about photography, purists, flag joke, sending me money

yeah I was just busting balls, director of photography also called DP also called the double penetration because he is always the second man in on a porn shoot when they run out of models.  I was being petty because I see no self-evident or necessary and sufficient reason why the dubstep should have matched up with the shots inasmuch that they must be some sort of music video that provides no room for audio in the tempo.  I kind of felt like audio visual counterpoint which I kind of began to develop was alright for the affect/effect I wanted.  Half the people I talked to said such a thing was fine, half the people said the dubstep was annoying.  Not to be a nominalist but an analysis says that half the crowd was actively concerned with the true substance of the movie which lies in the story/editing/musical manifold and the other was concerned  with the superficial Hollywood tradition.  Not that I have any claim to this video being anything of artistic value but just to say that "pacing" by a one-to-one tempo relation is not some rule that must be followed and is generally not looked for unless if someone is preconditioned for doing so.  blah blah blah my grandma knitted me a new merkin and im a son of a bitch

Also thanks for watching, I value ever view and opinion.  B)  Smoke it up dawg
