No, its just the accessibility of cameras, since we live in developed nations there are cameras everywhere, they constantly watch you. But on my journeys across Asia if you take a camera out people love to take photos (no not to pick your pockets) they still find it amusing. You give a child a camera to play with in Indonesia they will take photos of everything, from their toes to the sky to the pile of dogshit on the street, while I found with my younger cousins they pick it up take a few photos of each other maybe the dog and then get bored with it. It doesn't have the lustre since there are so many other pieces of entertainment around.
