I am being entirely serious when I say that I haven't turned on my TV to watch cable in a few years. Most of my entertainment comes from the Internet (from great people like you~). So what's good that's on TV right now? I'd rather get referrals from someone here than wasting time checking the tube.

I think the last actual Cartoon show I watched on TV was MLP, which was okay, but I probably won't continue to watch. So recommendations on cartoons, running series, any shows like BBC's Sherlock or Doctor Who? Or you could just tell me what you've been watching as of late.

that is all i have to contribute to this thread

anime

but if you are in the mood for British comedy i would recommend the it crowd.

naturally

community, arrested development and it's always sunny are all pretty good. haven't seen that much of it's always sunny though. might start getting into dr. who as well 'cause i hear it's really great.

for cartoons: gravity falls, adventure time, amazing world of gumball, and regular show are all pretty worth watching. except in my experience regular show gets kind of tiresome, but that could just be me.

gravity falls
adventure time
regular show

that is basically what i was going to say. i really love the first season of reg show but i do admit that it kind of got formulaic and i probably only still like it because i find the little gags funny and still enjoy the voice actors and art style.

i don't have cable but when i did i watched reg show and adventure time a lot. i watched gravity falls on the internet because it never fucking came on when i actually had time to watch TV. since moving to philly i haven't had cable but i still watch TV shows every once in a while. i watched a lot of the boondocks which can be kind of hit or miss, a lot of the episodes feel like they don't add much to the series. i own the first two seasons of it's always sunny and it's a pretty funny show. for a while i kind of wrote it off as "just another show with awkward humor" but it's actually pretty creatively depraved.

i want to start watching one of the many dr. who's.

i used to watch breaking bad and dexter a few years ago but i stopped following them

ExBerian

Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Mad Men :D

Flash

gravity falls is the best animated show i've seen lately.
breaking bad is good too

edit: oh and i HAVE TO check out the amazing world of gumball, probably will do so in the next few weeks

rtil

considering the ratings that gravity falls got i'm surprised they don't show it more often

and imo gumball is leagues better than adventure time and regular show, it's really a shame it gets overlooked. it has better characters, writing and animation. some of the best animation i've seen in an animated tv series actually.

psi43

Dexter. That show is also CURRENTLY running/broadcasting the newest season.
Although, if you have never watched Dexter before, you may want to start at the first episode.

Another show that I recently watched all episodes of is Community. It's amazing, best sitcom I've ever seen.
And if you like watching 'older' stuff as well, watch Malcolm in the Middle. That one was the best sitcom I've ever seen before I saw Community.
(I consider it to be 'older' stuff cause it has been canceled more than 6 years ago)

ZennyPLUS

Gumball kind of has me hooked. I may just watch that online.

is that another one of those awkward humor shows? it definitely sounds like it.

it's a poorly animated comedy about a guy who runs a failing downtown burger joint . he has a dysfunctional family so that americans can relate to it. it's mildly humorous

Meh. I'd watch King of the Hill then. That's a lot more relatable.
