its come to the point where i don't even look at or notice them anymore but at least they're small enough not to get too worked up about. i usually just have another tab open anyway

I feel like I post this band a lot and people are probably tired of me posting (music) in general but I really do wish more people liked them.

If they aren't my favorite band, they're definitely the one I identify with most. They haven't released a single mediocre track, in my opinion. Even the ones I didn't really like when I first heard them I can go back now and appreciate.

I guess they don't really sound that special to most people, but to me they really do. I wish I knew more bands like them.

I've heard good things about Velocity : Design : Comfort, so is that a good place to start with Sweet Trip? Also I really like that track you posted but I can't seem to find what albums it's on. Doesn't seem to be on You Will Never Know Why.

V:D:C is generally considered their best. It's also one one my favorite albums ever. It contains some of my favorite tracks of the entire rock and electronic traditions. YWNKW is a bit more "accessible" but the songwriting is just as good if not better in some cases. Halica is considered their least impressive but it's still good.

If V:D:C isn't to your liking I would still check out YWNKW, which that song is indeed on. It's the last one before the hidden track.

I'll refrain from posting anything from V:D:C because listening to it for the first time in 2012 was one of the most surprising and magical musical experiences of my life and I wouldn't want to spoil that for anyone.

Also that Stella Luna track is great. Did they really only release one single? I've heard a few releases from Clairecords. I should really check out the rest if gems like this came out on it.

Sef

Yeah Clairecords has some pretty good shit. It's entirely shoegaze and dream pop I think, which is neat since most labels like that have "indie" stuff strewn about. Also it's distributed by the same label as Sweet Trip, Darla. As far as Stella Luna goes, yeah they only released the Stargazer EP and that's it. It's sad just because that track, Change, is one of my favorite tracks I've heard in some time. Probably since Machine Gun by Slowdive several months ago.

Speaking of Clairecords and Slowdive,

Monster Movie is great, especially for people who like dream pop. One of its founding members is Chris Savill of Slowdive. Also I downloaded both V:D:C and YWNKW, I'll listen to them soon.

Bamyasi

I think they also released some of Guitar's work, which is some of the only American music I've found that's somewhat similar to ST:

None of his albums are nearly as good as any of ST's, and some of them contain major creative missteps.

I like the rest of the tracks on Stargazer too. Will check out Monster Movie.

Jon

i love posting music in this thread but i always forget how to embed youtube vids into my post and i dont want to ask anyone how to do it cuz im too embarrassed, ashamed of the things ive been put through, ashamed of the person i am (isolation)

Steps:

  • Click "Reply"
  • Paste URL
That's it.

Also, I actually like this Grimes song in case anyone thought they were going to get a big dumb face full of text for answering my question in that other thread.

rtil

seems to be the fan favorite but it's not the best song on the album
