I'm not going to argue for or against either, but isn't the term person referring to certain capacities, and specifically an identity that a being has?
I think what people attracts are just these personalities. I mean, take your favorite character... How empty and flat would he or she look without that personality. It would be like an empty shell, a dead doll at best. Be it ponies, cats or people, they still convey a certain form of personality, starting with simple facial expressions and ending with complex dialogues. I am not even referring to any pornographic aspects, but isn't the fact that these characters appear likable due to their personality the very basis for most of these peoples' fantasies?

Transferred to reality it would be bestiality, no question, but that claim would be based on the same analogy as underage characters and pedophilia and I don't think that half of the members of this board are "potential dangers to society"... at least I hope so...
