what's wrong with ponies?

to those of you who have a problem with it - serious question, i'm actually curious why it's mocked. you all are able to and do look at real horses in private (unless you're farmer), a relatively old animal of our society. but before the advent of farms and barns, what do you think guys and girls rode on? it was horses. horses in all kinds of different styles, representing a multitude of colors and shapes that people found pleasure in. why is it strange or abnormal to you that this is still practiced today? yes there are kinds of drawn ponies that get a little out there, but they cater to a certain audience, and the pony industry does the same thing. just because you don't understand it doesn't mean you have to be afraid of or mock it. everyone has their own fantasies. for those that fantasize pony characters were real, how much different is that from those with the unlikely fantasy that they could have a real horse? for those that find a certain pony desirable, what difference does it make if it was cartoon horse or a real one? i don't understand the negative stigma that goes along with something that's a natural part of human history. does anyone disagree with me, or understand what i'm saying?

I actually used to really love the show, but I just kind of stopped watching it because of the fandumb. I haven't really seen any of the new episodes or really wanted to anymore.
