did you do a sketch of this before you finalized it? if you were to draw the skeletal structure of this girl she's broken in like 10 places. and her face/head is kinda blobbish. try maybe basing some of your poses on a pose from a photo that you like or something. you could learn a lot from it

hi yeah i did!! but i just gave up on this drawing i don't feel like it would progress very well if i worked on it, even though it's already like halfway done.

here's some more silly sketches. i've barely had time to do any drawing recently which is rather unfortunate.

wow the quality of those photos are complete shit you can barely see anything i apologize U///U

i think in your realistic drawings you're borrowing to many elements from your more cartoony style.

things like oval eyes. personally drawing realistic expressive eyes has helped me with cartoony eyes.

i think learning how to draw realistically helps with ANY aspect of cartoon drawings. you gotta understand reality before you distort it

yeah i agree with both of these. i've been struggling to get rid of bad habits that i've had for so long, but life drawing certainly has been helping me quite a bit!! so i just want to say thank you to everyone who gave me honest critique, i didn't just shit it out and flush it down the toilet. it means a lot 2 me :o)

your weak point is definitely anatomy.. especially facial anatomy. keep practicing it though. the stronger you get at that, the stronger your cartoony work will get.
