Ever been to Oakland? It gets crazy there, but it's really beautiful and has some of the best weather in the country.

But what happens at the public schools there are pretty crazy. This is how shit went down at Oakland Technical High last May.

I live near Oakland in a nearby town (Kinda like Oakland but filled with a bunch of white boys who try way too hard to "be black".)  My circle basically consisted of Asian nerds.

Many of the student who go to Oakland High Schools get expelled, and several of them were sent to go to the high school that I went to, to just cause more unnecessary trouble.  I've seen a few fights from people who don't know how to fight ( or example, slapping someone's forehead over and over while they curl up into a ball is not fighting and looks pathetic, but everyone gets intimidated anyway). 

So yes, I'm aware of how "shit goes down".

i didnt know you were from norcal. i lived in berkeley for less than a month last year. now around san jose.

Yeah, I live in a very silly town called "Castro Valley".  I was in San Jose last month as well actually.

yeah San Jose's pretty boss. Castro Valley I've never been to but I'm aware of the city, and from what I've heard it's really nice. it's right next to Hayward, which kind of has a ghetto rep and a lot of cholo kids/Nortenos and Surenos, and Pacific Islander gang bangers. A kid in my English class actually moved here from Hayward, and says it's a shithole.

He's right on the money with that statement.  I go to Cal State East Bay which is in Hayward.  While the campus is nice, outside of it is exactly what he described it as.  Castro Valley's alright with me, just the high schoolers and sometimes young adults can be completally embarrassing.

Nice to know that there's locals here.

Holy hell... there only was about one white student throughout the entire video...
I thought it was just a dumb stereotype that some schools/districts are majorly packed with certain etnic groups but this video makes it look like apartheid 2.0.

Apart of that I don't really see how what's going down there is anything special... I mean it's a single fight between two guys who apparently don't have too much experience and a bunch of curious bystanders. Is there any special reason for it or what makes the difference between Oakland and other areas?

just like the google images thread about that neighborhood, one fight video doesn't really give enough information on this place to make an accurate assumption about it. if this school is as fucked up as this video makes it out to be, it's because the kids there are fucked up, not necessarily just the fact that it's a predominately black school. i've been to a school like this for a week for testing and everyone was really chill
