i am so fucking sick of banks, i don't want to be a part of one anymore. i'm gonna pay off my credit card and switch to a credit union. is anyone a part of one, or have any experience with them? i'll have to do my own research since they're mostly local, but i know they're non-profit.

I know that almost everyone in my family thinks banks are the devil and will only go to a credit union.

I was looking at setting up a checking account the other day and all that was needed was the ability to work technology and fifteen bucks.

I was with WaMu, then they went down under and Chase took them over. Chase frequently pissed my dad and I off a lot so we switched to Rabobank and have had no problems. Seriously, if Rabobank is in your area, go with them. My mom was once dumb enough to go way over what was on her debit card and was able to not have to pay any interest because they are so nice. >_>
