ok so now you all have ~~karma~~ pizza points (

) and i think that they should serve some actual purpose

basically how they work is that you can give or take away 1 pizza point per person every 24 hours

give them to people for making cool art, a helpful post, or just being super kawaii

take one away if someone tells a bad joke or is being a huge douche, etc

because of the limitations of how many can be given out and how they can be taken away, it's not easy to accumulate a lot of them (i think).

so, my idea was that for every 100 pizza points you acquire, i will buy you an actual pizza. i will even order it for you if you want me to. limit 1 topping and large size.

i'lll probably set up a paypal for this like i did with the contests just in case a lot of people end up winning pizzas, and they are not necessarily cheap when ordering, either way though i think this would be fun and i will do it if you guys like the idea.

in the future i will also try to set up a way for you to get pizza points by posting more, contributing to the site and getting awards, etc, instead of just getting them by chance from other people. but i'll have to code something for that later.

in the meantime i'd like to hear your thoughts. good idea? bad idea? got a better idea?

I think its a pretty good idea. I don't think anyone has a problem with free pizza. There is times when we all just sorta post something dumb and maybe someone feels strongly against it and would like to point it out in other ways. Sounds fun and I imagine no ones desperate enough for free stuff to try to abuse the system.

well yeah that's why I voted "no". People who aren't liked too much on the forums will never be able to get a lot of pizzapoints even if they post cool stuff, other people will just get pizza points for normal or even stupid posts.

don't really see the idea behind that, unless I get one of the free pizzas that is.

right now, yes, i could see how that would be a problem. however, i plan to implement other ways you can get points in the future. for example, contributing something to the site, a free one every 50 posts, referring friends who post, finding bugs or offering suggestions that i implement to the site, etc.

in the future, i think it will be more about how much you contribute to the site and less about people's individual votes/slices.

I think pizza points should be kept contribution related. Giving a pizza point every X number of posts just gets people to post more, not better.

Its not by posts but rather anyone that + or subtracts your Karma/pizza points on the left corner of your profile. Unfortunately it could lead up to a popularity contest but I'm sure there would be people correcting if they see something off for someone that just always says dumb stuff to have like 20 pizza points in one week. But yeah I can see contributions being a better way to reward or maybe 100 isn't really at a high enough number to match possible pizza points that could be earned daily.

it could work. for every 50 or 100 posts or so, you get a pizza point. for every bad post, someone will subtract a pizza point.

if someone spams, they'll end up losing way more than they gain.

it keeps the forum active and allows a form of self-moderation. and only real douchebags would spam to get fuckin pizza points. honestly, who needs a free pizza that bad? it's just a fun little activity, i think it's a good idea.

will there be punishments for getting really negative pizza points (perhaps a "rewards" icon reading something like "bad at pizza points" / "owes pizza")

The ability to add/subtract pizza points seems to be unavailable to me, but I don't know why
