i got it working, it looks like it's a bug related to the steam overlay

it's pretty fun but performance is very erratic as some scenes are really intense with a lot of high-end effects while others are pretty junky in comparison

You're shit.

The game is fine. It is VASTLY superior to the majority of FPS games that are being developed and released, and the second most fun game this year for the PC. It needs a patch or two badly for the instability bugs, but the game itself is just as I expected it to be - an unpolished mash-up of whatever they've been screwing around with for the past decade, but a fun one. Yeah, the ending wasn't great... but to me, it was bad because it ended. The only place it fell a little short was the overall duration, I thought it would be a little longer, but 10-12 hours is still alright.

Even if people aren't extremely keen on it, it's definitely worth a bargain purchase for a playthrough, just because of all the shit you can do.

I've also only heard good things about the multiplayer, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

The only reason someone wouldn't like this is if they wanted a non-stop action fuckfest like the shitty ass Call of Duty games. If you want to drive RC cars, slap alien walltits, and laugh at unintentional jokes about black strippers and abortions, Duke Nukem Forever is 4 U!

played a few levels on it and im loving it already, action takes a little time to get started but i didnt mind what with all the interactive stuff including punching out a jerky actor and writing on boards/books whatever you want
