i stopped using msn a while ago because the new version fucking sucked and got rid of handwriting which allowed you to draw in the chat box

so today out of curiosity i looked for the last build of live messenger before it went to shit and this is it: http://www.oldapps.com/msn_messenger.php?old_msn=22

just uninstall windows live essentials if the installer says you have a newer version, then you can install this and it will let you log in and won't ask you to update

I immediately downgraded like the day after the new WLM came out. Because of the fact the newer version of WLM doesn't work on XP, I doubt Microsoft will ever force people to upgrade to the newer, shitty version. I really have no idea wtf Microsoft was thinking with that version. So many awful design decisions.

I thought I had the newer version that doesn't allow me to color code my contacts' IM windows

well they just started calling version 15 WLM2011 even though the first build was released in 2010

the last good build is indeed "version 2009", 14.0.8117.416

i just use pidgin and then all my contacts are on one tasty list and i never have to worry about it

the new msn lagged my lappy too much so I downgraded. I didn't even use it long enough to realise that it removed the handwriting feature (which is massive massive fun)

i use msn cause all my friends from school use it, and some of my uni friends use it
these days its mostly used to talk to sevake, lenkoel, billy and shadevin

im gonna try and get this for my mac with the wine crossover app. mac's version of msn is even worse than windows live.
