Your character is very static, it needs thrust.
The walk cycle is not horrible, but it looks as if he's shuffling his feet a long the sideway, his legs need to be kicked out more.

@Systek: for some reason that made me lmao

@Grinace: Cool key frame! Seems like your getting better very fast. Looking forward to the cartoon Grinace!

yeah if you aim too high youll probably get pissed and give up. but rather than sacrificing art quality for the sake of being able to animate more complex things, you should build up your skill, retaining your original art. then you will make something special.

Ohh. You will see. Once I find out more about Project Freetown... I already have an idea for a intro or some sort of music video with my character.

Also, Rtil. I just finished watching your flash again. I wanna know how you did the light coming off of Violet's headset. I tryed making a star with a gradient but it didn't come out the same(has the bold lines)... And I wanna know how you do those crazy gradients with the sky. I tryed making on on photoshop but still didn't come out right...

animation is all about drawing thats why i dont make anything because im not good enough to make something i'd be proud of

it's all about picking the right colors. and the part you're talking about with violet, that is a thin gradient going from a half-transparent hot pink to almost-white with a little bit of pink in the middle. i copied it, rotated 90 degrees to get the "star" look. i turned it into a movie clip and used "add" layer option in the object properties to make it vibrate off any color it was touching. sometimes a little blur or glow can also help. i used this same technique in a recent flash i uploaded on da/sa called "end.of.file animatic". in photoshop gradients and layers work the same, so you should be able to duplicate the same look. also, if you're making stars in photoshop, i have a technique i developed for creating a pretty starfield with a custom brush and a few layers. although you can probably find dozens of tutorials for something like that.

i draw all of the time i just need to get better and there's not really a point in rushing getting a cartoon done right now anyway its not like im doing for any reason other than its fun
and its not fun anymore because i cant draw as well as i can animate anymore

like i read books about animation so i know a whole lot about how to make cartoons but i can't draw well enough to animate my best so im just taking a break from it
