depends really
i don't zoom in unless the line starts getting really crappy, i use about a 30 for smoothing and my hand isn't always so steady

GRINACE

So that means you use a digital drawing board? If so, do you know where I could get one?

KingDavid

www.wacom.com

I'm starting to adjust to the change, hopefully i'll be able to draw as well on paper on flash soon.

i use the wacom intuos 3 6x8. it fits nicely in your lap and fits to any screen very well. of course, the bigger your tablet the less jittery your drawings will appear on screen (zoom can change that of course). don't forget if you have a widescreen to get a widescreen version of the tablet, otherwise it will fit to your screen strange. you can actually change what area of the screen the tablet adheres to in preferences, for example i have dual monitors, but when i'm drawing i set it back to only the main one so that when i draw left to right my lines aren't wider than they'd normally be. you can also make application specific button presets.

I guess i'll save up for the 6x11 for my XP or for my Macbook or my Powerbook G4

thanks ryan

i just use full screen i used to use 400 though

KingDavid

I use a 6x8 intuos with my wide screen and find it works fine. I use to use 400% up until now, I do find 100% better somehow o.o

350%, 3rd or 2nd brush size, depends, 700% for details, very far for shading (which I do with the pen tool) and 40%smoothness, always.

zomfgbie

i cant say i know exactly. none at all for sketching, might zoom once or twice for lineart, usually once more for detail. fine detail usually 300-400 % colour - none or once.
