if you could change/add something about your OS

well i've been thinking. There are a lot of people complaining about macs, some complain about minor stuff on windows and there are probably people who use linux and complain about that.

so i've been wondering, if you could change anything, or add anything to your operating system, what would you do?

first state which OS you're using and its version (i.e. windows xp, windows vista, mac osx, linux whatever, etc) and then what you would change or what you'd add

for me, i'm using windows xp (professional)

i'd love to have widgets. I know that there are widgets to some extend on vista etc but not the way i'd like to have them. Something like they have on smartphones would be awesome, like a small feed you can add to your desktop which you could hook up with your facebook account for example, with it telling you stuff about your facebook account (new feeds from friends and whatnot)

although if i could just get my external hard drive to work i could have windows 7 or another os up and running.

i really like windows 7. i'm pretty sure you can do everything you described with window 7 on the desktop, and if you can't, that just means there isn't a widget for it yet
