A new comic featuring that chick and her alien, if you remember them:

The alien wont actually show up for a bunch more pages and this is just establishing stuff, so nothing is really happening yet.

let me know what you think
or critique me i guess
much appreciated
kisses

when she is waking up in the bed she does not look like she is that tired. overall it's a good establishing page though

lenko

i think the first panel should use darker tones, so the 2nd panel placed in front of it stands out more

also instead of white borders (i forgot the proper term) i think you should use black cuz the general tones of the comic are quite bright

other than that it's nicely drawn and reads well. what program are you using?

<emanhattan> i remember pingu ice cream
<emanhattan> it was a better time
<emanhattan> when the penguins were cold and delicious
<emanhattan> and i knew i was gonna be

i think its a good start. i like the pencil drawing of the girl a lot more than the digital drawing. what program are you using?

I tried to make the second panel darker. I guess I should make it even darker.
It's scanned inks in Photoshop

It's hard (at least for me) to capture the true emotion of a picture that you see with a pencil and inking it and it still feeling the same way.
It's scanned inks in Photoshop again!

Oh thank goodness.

Guess I'll have to work on this!

Page three:

The reason why this took so long is because I did another page three before realizing it sucked and deciding to do things differently.

Until I get/put up a website for these, I guess I'll keep posting them here and on my dA.

unless anyone opposes

the checker pattern on her bandana is extremely distracting. at thte very least it needs to be toned down to a lighter gray.

the resizing is affecting some of the textures, but don't worry it looks fine full-size. i am also working on a script for the forums that will allow you to view an image full-size by clicking on it, as well as dynamic resizing based on the page width.

Buh

A page in which nothing happens.

People seemed to be having trouble seeing the satellite as a satellite in the second panel and saw a cityscape instead. (At least when it was all inks) Do you guys have that problem?

I also lightened her bandana in the page before this. (On dA)

rtil

i can see it just fine. even if it did look like buildings (which it kind of does i guess), we see the satellite in the 1st panel and we know that we're in space.

although, i think the staging for the 2nd panel could be more interesting. for new settings, i think it's better to have a large establishing shot, and then a smaller panel for where the action is taking place

On the next page (spoilers) there's going to be a bunch of extreme close ups of him hooking in to the satellite, and then a big shot showing the Earth underneath. Would that work, or should I work out a way to put it on this page?

rtil

sounds good to me

oh the alien ship finally shows up! :] although yeah I thought that was a bunch of buildings and a moon in the 2nd panel...opps! but keep going, I think when the next page comes there will be no confusion that its the satellite.

Gregly

As promised

PS. The Russian says "It [Yuri Gagarin] is buried in the Kremlin Wall in Moscow" or something like that, the morse says "I think they're on to us" and the Korean says "I love you" (according to my sister)
PPS. pfft what do satellites look like I dunno

i'm sure there'd be plenty of pictures of satellites on google images

page looks good though

Best title I could come up with for this comic so far is 'Alfredo Saucer' (The alien's name is Alfredo, I may have mentioned that)

What do you guys think?

the panelling and drawings are nice, but i think you need to have more tone/value variation when it comes to foreground/background.

i dunno for some reason it just doesnt feel like the main characters are standing out enough from the bg
