theyre actually trying to do something different for the next animal crossing game

Details are scarce at the moment but it is confirmed that the character plays as the mayor of the town. It also appears that the art style of the game has changed significantly, with now the lower torso of the humanoid character becoming visible, unlike other entries into the series. With the help of the townsfolk and 'one eager secretary' it will be the character's job to make the town a better place to live.[

i dont know if you guys care about animal crossing but to me these changes seem just delightful. hopefully theyll be significant enough to offer more fun. from what they say it looks like the goal of the game has changed and its not just paying off tom nook for all of eternity

i dont know if the screenshot i posted was good enough to show this, but the animals now have this cool flat painted look thats unique and refreshing

Skipped the one on the Wii since the "city" was just a small-ish kind of addition.

On the fence with this 'til I know for sure that there's more to do. Well, more than being told what to do by an eager secretary...

I love these games but god damnit.

They are only fun for like one hour.

Then you just leave it off for a year and check back in to see your town has been deserted and cockroaches and vermin are everywhere.

They could do SO MUCH with these games, as silly and nonsensical as they are. A big city for one thing. And not that retarded barber shop town from the last one. Ocean exploration. Other environments.



I do like that they are finally updating the graphics. Even the wii version was still using the same textures and animations as the DS/N64 ones.
