directions (open to change or interpretation):
character animators must:
- post a picture of their character for approval before animating
- use animation that at least partially mimics the real world and an urban environment
- time the animation to the song and try to match its mood
- at the end of their part, include a transition from the real world to the inside of the character's mind.
- work together with their mind animator and animators of other parts to keep things somewhat consistent.
mind animators must:
- use animation that is experimental, i.e. not directly mimicking the real world, to visually interpret the thoughts of the characters
- time the animation to the song and try to match its mood
- at the end of their part, include a transition from inside of the character's mind to the real world
- work together with their character animator and animators of other parts to keep things somewhat consistent
animators of both must:
- download and use both the character and mind MP3s in their part
- follow all other directions above

even though i'm now assigning parts, we're keeping the flash tag idea because sending things back and forth between animators produces interesting results. basically this will be a joint effort, lots of passing of FLAs. for instance, after im done with the character sequence for part 1, i will send that file to the mind animator. he will then send it back to me, ill give him suggestions, and when we've put the finishing touches on it, we'll send all of part 1 to the animators of part 2, who will then animate a transition from our character to theirs. repeat this process for all 12 parts and we'll be finished. except for the opening and closing sequences, which we'll do last

this is a lot to absorb and nothing is set in stone, so for now just pick your parts!

part 8 is really interesting because the mind sequence gets cut off right in the middle

when i listen to it, i imagine it showing someone's inner thoughts when all of a sudden a knife stabs or a bullet tears through the screen and you see that the character was just killed. this could be a good way to show what death looks like inside a characters head, as well as a good way to transition to a criminal character
