George Carlin's humour relied on an intelligent audience who wasn't there for instant buckets of chuckles. What's funny about Carlin is more about how he can pick apart the world in a way that generally speaking would depress anyone, and make it a joke. But you have to really listen to what he says, and understand what it means outside of simply being a joke to really get the laughs out of it.

Everything we do here, our satire, the sarcastic use of teh, is the same essential thing as what Carlin did, but you probably aren't really privy to what he's getting at the same way you are with shitty NewGrounds cartoons, so your thoughts aren't provoked, and thus don't get the full effect of the humour.
