i should probably specify that i know 3d printers have some awesome engineering potential but i doubt most people will use these kind of things for stuff like that.

this is another one of those things that has no real practical application. i don't think any 3d modeller would really want to use this.

I just wonder how much my collection of figs and BJDs will decline in value once 3D printers become household fixtures. It will definitely be a dream come true for fucking pirates.

Also I'm pretty sure similar technology is being used on factory floors to design airplanes and deathrays and junk from heavy metals. Oculus Rift is still scarier though.

it might be lame but that's one of the only things i can think of that i'd use a 3d printer for, at least for now. when 3d printers get really intense then i'd see much more uses for them but for right now most of the consumer ones are all designed for smaller things. unless you're a company and own a giant one for manufacturing purposes or otherwise.
